Rare Snow Day in Atlanta, GA in 2008 |
I cannot believe this is the only shot I could find of the house in my many folders of pics! No. It is not snowing at this moment, here. Yes. It really does snow in Atlanta, but only every few years or so.
You know why I like my yard to be snow-covered? It covers our really thick and healthy, but really BEIGE grass. Hubby loves Zoysia grass. In the south, where the summers are HOT, our grass is the greenest on the block, while others have dry, well, BEIGE (AKA STRUGGLING) grass. So, we opt for beige grass in the winter, while all the neighbors have green. In the summer we green up and pretty much stay that way. Well. Until it gets really cold.
Oh. The punch list. Isn’t that what I’m supposed to be gabbing about today? As we begin to tackle this cleaning out and fixin’ up, I find myself a tad overwhelmed. WHERE TO START?! Do I start with the worst rooms, like my craft studio? Ugh. Little projects, like ceiling fan blade vacuuming?
How to firm up the order of these projects? I have to catch all of my thoughts as they fly through the air, and tackle them down onto a big sheet of paper. I say BIG because I am SO bad about writing down my little lists on TINY pieces of colored paper, then burying one scrap on top of the other. Then those get snuggled down underneath all of the bigger sheets of paper. Ugh. So, I will be keeping a spiral notebook with me.
I want to go room by room and stare it down. Jot down the to-do list per room. There. Captured. Written in pen. NOW it will get done. Eventually. In baby steps. Because it is now ON THE PUNCH LIST. AND, I get to put a big check mark next to each item on the list, as it is done. Does anyone else just love to make check marks? Am I so easily amused? Something has to keep me going…
Now off to find that spiral notebook that I know I have around here, somewhere.
