Trim Stabilizer Corners So You Will Remember Which End is UP!

Oh, goody! I see my fellow embroiderers are still with me!
This is not a huge secret, but rather a tiny tip that I thought might be helpful to others. This is especially important when the design doesn’t seem to have an obvious top and bottom.
When stitching out ITH (In the Hoop) designs, especially if it might involve applique’ or having to remove the hoop to trim the fabric before stitching the next step, we can get easily distracted in between those steps. “Ooh, look! So many pretty thread colors!”
I must admit that I came up with this tip because I may have, once or twice, reinserted my hoop wrong side up, and then hit, “GO.” Um. What the heck?! It’s stitching in the wrong place and nothing is lined up!
Clipping those stabilizer top corners at the very beginning of my embroidery stitching has saved me many times. I have been known to even just tear them off, if my scissors have not been within arm’s reach.
Just remember to glance at your clipped corners as you reattach your hoop, in readiness for the next stitching step and you can rest easy, knowing your stitching will all be right-side-up!
